Not every sports car can be rented by every license holder. Age, how long you have held your license and sometimes driving experience all play a role. The exact requirements are set by the provider; here are the typical values.
Minimum age and license duration (guide values)
| Class | Minimum age | License held for |
|---|---|---|
| Supercars | 23–25 years | 2–3 years |
| Luxury Sedans | 23–25 years | 2–3 years |
| Convertibles & Roadsters | 23–25 years | 2–3 years |
| Luxury SUVs | 23–25 years | 2–3 years |
| Classic Cars | 25 years | 3 years |
| Chauffeur Service | 23–25 years | 2–3 years |
| Wedding Cars | 25 years | 3 years |
Which license do you need?
As a rule, a valid EU driver's license (Class B) is sufficient. Guests from non-EU countries often also need an international driving permit (see our guide on the international driving permit).
Is driving experience checked?
For high-performance vehicles, many providers give a short briefing at handover. It covers driving modes and controls and is not a formal test. Some providers ask for additional documentation for very high-value vehicles.
Additional driver
With many providers, a second driver can be added for an extra charge, provided they meet the same requirements.
